Africa Medical Aid is an organization that seeks to bridge the healthcare inequalities by offering an avenue for the skilled healthcare professionals and those in training an opportunity to contribute to the bridging the gap in healthcare. The directors and across the team have a passion to contribute to the well-being of populations through through community health outreaches, mobilization and sensitization of the populations on the need for professional services. We are in continuous pursuit to better lives through impactful community projects.

Our History
The concept AMA dates back to 2014 when two of its directors (then students) were looking for a healthcare internship opportunity for themselves within Kenya. They experienced heavy challenges with reaching out to hospitals and convincing the hospital management to offer them an opportunity to learn from within.These challenges cut across every cadre of profession in the medical; field.
It is then that the idea of helping local students studying health related courses acquire placements in various hospitals around the country was born. An organization named medical internships Kenya acted as a link between the students and the institutions thus many local students acquired the much needed experience in their field of expertise.
With the interest of this kind of arrangement growing the organization was approached by student from United Kingdom(UK) who wanted to have a two weeks observership in a public hospital within Kenya. Medical Internship Kenya(MIK) planned for their placements and with its great success the room to place more students and use the small fee paid to empower hospitals was born.
Medical Internship Kenya was renamed to Africa Medical Aid(AMA) so as to be able to reach out to all students and volunteers across the globe. Overtime Africa Medical Aid has offered and seeks to continue offering interested individuals an opportunity to be part of the bigger picture of “achieving universal healthcare for people in developing countries’
